What the extension does

It adds a section next to the chat list on chatgpt.com, claude.ai and gemini.google.com. It reads the list of chats the site shows in its sidebar (title and link) and, to export or search, the text of the chat you have open. It lets you file chats into folders, pin them, search them and export them.

What happens to your chats

No chat text, title or page address is sent to any server. Chatshelf has no analytics, no advertising and no account. It does not call the chat sites' internal APIs, and it does not delete or change your chats.

Data stored on your computer

• The list of chats it has seen: site, title and link.
• Your folders, colours, pins and prompts.
• The text of the chats you open, so that you can search and export it later. It is kept for up to 1,000 chats, and the oldest are removed when that is exceeded. The Free plan searches the 20 most recent of them; Pro searches all of them.
• Your licence key and the start and end dates of the free trial.

This data lives in your browser's extension storage. Uninstalling the extension deletes it. Backup files and exports are created only when you ask, and are saved where you choose. They are normal files on your computer and are not deleted with the extension.

Data that leaves your computer

Two things, and only these.

• Your licence key, when you activate a Pro pass and at most once a day after that. The key goes to our licence server at gigscope-api.exochard.workers.dev, which checks it with Payhip (the seller of record for Pro passes). Nothing else is sent with it.
• A suggestion or problem report, only when you press Send on the suggestion form in the extension or on the roadmap page of this website. It sends the text you typed, the kind of message you chose, your email address if you added one, and the extension version, to the same server, so that the message can be read and answered. Nothing is sent before you press Send. In Firefox the browser asks your permission first.

Access to websites

Chatshelf has access to chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and chat.openai.com, to show its section and read the chat you have open. It also uses storage and unlimited storage, because cached chat text can grow.
